Making evidence-based decisions around educational technology:
A review of educational technology research issues

A Webinar with Jon Becker

Monday, March 8, 2010

Webinar: 4:30-5:30pm

http://tinyurl.com/vascd030810

Especially in difficult budget times, educational leaders are faced with difficult decisions about resource expenditures.  Funding earmarked for educational technology is always subject to scrutiny and questions often revolve around evidence of effectiveness.  Those questions are not particularly new as evidence-based practices have been in favor for some time now in education.  However, within the educational policy and research communities, there is a lack of agreement (and in some cases a lack of understanding) of what counts as evidence.  This webinar is designed as an overview and discussion of the issues around research and evidence in the field of educational technology.  Participants should come away with a better understanding of how to evaluate the research and evidence of technology effectiveness.
