Our Mission

The Virginia Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development is dedicated to advancing excellence in Teaching, Learning and Leadership.

Our Goals

• To use all available communication technologies to meet the diverse needs of its audiences.

• To offer proactive, innovative programs and services at the regional and state levels based on identified needs.

• To influence policy development and implementation to ensure successful lifelong learning for all.

• To expand a diverse and involved membership to all areas of the state.

Virginia ASCD received an Affiliate Best Practice Award from ASCD in the area of Influence and Policy.  In its congratulatory letter, the review team stated:

"While your affiliate has been strong and active in the influence arena, we are thrilled to see your efforts growing each year.  In particular, the review team was impressed that you are regularly engaging a lobbyist to speak to your board in your efforts to keep them updated on legislative issues.  We were particularly pleased to see that you also provided an opportunity at your annual conference for that same analyst to speak to the entire membership.  Congratulations on this well-deserved Best Practice Award!"
