VASCD's 2016 Annual Conference is themed Future- Ready Students. We are excited to provide a forum for Virginia educators to share innovative ideas and evidence-based practices with colleagues from throughout the Commonwealth. If you have a session idea, submit the proposal form here by June 30.
2016 Conference Exhibitors
VASCD's 2016 Annual conference, themed FUTURE-READY STUDENTS, will be held in Williamsburg November 30- December 2. We hope many of our past sponsors and exhibitors will return, and we look forward to welcoming new partners as well.
The Curriculum Leader of the Year Award is presented to one Virginia educator for outstanding contributions to leadership in curriculum and instruction. Nominees are those leaders whose understanding of and dedication to best instructional practice is reflected both in the nominee's own work and in the work of those (s)he leads.
To qualify, a nominee should:
* Have at least two full years experience in Virginia education with major responsibilities in the areas of instruction, curriculum, assessment, and/or professional development.
.* Be an active member of VASCD.
* Have a record of notable accomplishments in the field of supervision and/or curriculum development at the local, regional, state and/or national levels over the last five years.
* Demonstrate service to the profession beyond normal job responsibilities.
The nomination packet consists of a form completed by the nominator, an annotated resume from the nominee, and three letters of recommendation. The form is linked here. The resume and recommendation letters must be submitted to email@example.com by October 1, 2016.

VASCD IMPACT AWARDS
The VASCD Impact Awards are presented to eight educators, one from each Superintendents' region, who exemplify VASCD's beliefs about excellence in teaching, learning and leadership. These are professionals who consistently challenge themselves and others to learn, grow and achieve at the highest possible levels. They serve as catalysts, engaging their students and/or colleagues in collaborative work. They are learners themselves, who make instructional and leadership decisions informed by best-practice research and evidence. Their work influences, impacts, and inspires others.
The nomination packet consists of a form completed by the nominator, an annotated resume from the nominee, and two letters of recommendation. The form is linked here. The resume and recommendation letters must be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by October 1, 2016.

Selection procedures for all awards: A committee appointed by the President reviews the applications and makes the selection. The Executive Director will contact the award winners and nominators before the end of October 2016. Awards will presented at VASCD's Annual Conference on December 1 in Williamsburg.
